Taylor Lautner came back with a vengeance in New Moon. This shy unassuming young man nearly lost the role. Even though he was fit his frame was too small according to the director of the sequel.
He did what anyone else would do. Make a change and it was for the better. In a 9 month span of time the 5' 10" 140 pound actor added another 30 pounds of nothing but muscle to his frame.
Diet played a great part in his gaining the mass he needed to look convincing and commanding onscreen. As the werewolf Jacob Black he had to be able to look menacing without spoiling his boyish looks. With his new body he was able to do that in spades. He filled the screen. And unlike the kid in twilight he actually had height on Bella as well in the sequel.
It seems that his problem was burning off everything he would eat very rapidly. Not unusual for a very active teenager, heck he was and athlete long before he was an actor and the metabolism comes with the territory. As far as what he ate, it seems that really didn't matter as much as the frequency of the mini-meals.
As for his workout he did a very basics workout with weight lifting, endurance training and abdominal work. The key was the intensity of the routine and the amount of weight couple d with resistance.
One thing his trainer did that seemed to make the muscles have an explosion of growth was to vary the structure of the routine. One day heavy weights and less reps the next vice versa. Growth it seems comes from the muscles experiencing a variety of different stimuli.
Another trick that trainer Jordan Yuam used was doubling up the weight several days a week. This is having the trainee lowers more weight than he can normally lift. This prepares the body for the additional weight to come. By doing on or two sets like this you will keep your muscles ready for the next level.
One caution: too much cardio could cancel out the effects of all that eating by making you lose weight. If you are thin trying to get larger cardio is not the exercise for it.
Taylor Lautner trained six days a week most of you cannot do it that way so you will take a little more time to achieve similar results. But if you are skinny and want to bulk up the important thing to remember is to pump up the carbs and proteins in your diet.
Getting a fantastic physique is possible for almost anyone willing to put in the time and the sweat needed. You do not have to buy an expensive gym member ship or hire a personal trainer. There is enough good information to be found online that you can do it at home. High Intensity workouts will work both ways you can train intensely to burn and to bulk. Choose your body and go for it.
